UBA Ushers in Festive Cheer with Lagos Marina Garden Light-Up
United Bank for Africa (UBA) has officially welcomed the festive season with its annual Garden Light-Up ceremony, held at the Lagos Marina. The event, organized through UBA’s corporate social responsibility arm, the UBA Foundation, highlights the bank’s dedication to fostering joy and community spirit during the holiday season.

In a statement released on Tuesday, UBA emphasized that the Garden Light-Up event symbolizes its commitment to spreading happiness and unity. Featuring dazzling decorations, vibrant lights, fireworks, and festive music, the occasion creates a sense of celebration and serves as a beacon of hope for the season of giving.
Speaking at the event, UBA’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Oliver Alawuba, expressed gratitude to the bank’s staff, customers, and stakeholders for their contributions throughout the year.

“As we approach Christmas, a season of love and giving, we are reminded of the importance of community and generosity,” Alawuba said. “I want to thank everyone for their sacrifices and contributions, especially during what has been a challenging year. I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to the UBA Board, led by our Chairman, Tony Elumelu, as well as the executive management team and our colleagues across the globe.”
Reflecting on UBA’s 75th anniversary, Alawuba highlighted the bank’s dedication to leaving a lasting legacy.

The evening featured a captivating performance of Christmas carols by the UBA Customer Fulfillment Centre choir, followed by a guided tour of the UBA Foundation gardens and an impressive fireworks display.
