Former Anambra state governor, Peter Gregory Obi has declared his intention to run for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023.

The 60-year-old Nigerian politician and businessman, who was the vice presidential candidate in the 2019 Nigerian general election under the People’s Democratic Party revealed this through his social media handle on Twitter.
He urged People Democratic Party to zone the presidential ticket to the South so that he can throw in his weight.
In his words:
Yes, I will step into the field to contest for the opportunity to serve this great country as President if my party, the @officialPDPNig, zones the ticket to the South. But if it is thrown open, Nigerians will also hear from me.
