The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari lamented as he looked forward to finishing his tenure come 2023 as age is no longer on his side.
Buhari made this claim while speaking in an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) on Thursday.
The President revealed that being president is hard work and that he looks forward to when his term will end comes 2023. This he revealed when he was asked about he he feels after celebrating his 79th birthday.
He added that he has served Nigeria as a minister, governor and now president, that he hopes when his administration ends, Nigerians will acknowledge his good work.
“Age is telling on me. Working for six, seven hours a day is no joke. It’s a lot of hard work. I asked for it and I cannot complain. I’m not expecting any appreciation from Nigerians. What I expect is for Nigerians to say, ‘this man has done his best’.” He said.
