Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday put out world-class display to defeat the Pharoahs of Egypt at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In 30th minute of brilliant play, Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho gave a finishing goal which saw the Super Eagles come out on top against the Egyptians.
Though many people predicted to Egypt would either win or draw the match, they were surprised when the former Manchester City striker scored with an assist from Ranger’s Joe Aribo to give Nigeria the lead.
The win therefore sees Nigeria on top Group D, pending the outcome of the other game between Sudan and Guinea-Bissau later tonight.
With today’s victory, Nigeria broke Egypt’s unbeaten run record in their last 16 group matches at the Africa Cup of Nations.
